Everyone knows I love antique and vintage sewing machines and recently a friend gave me this White treadle cabinet. It did not have a machine in it but I'm sure I will find one ! There is quilte alot of interest in collectiing old machines and cabinets these days which I am extremely grateful to see. This cabinet although it's in need of minor repairs is in great condition and dates circa 1900. The white company was founded by Thomas White in 1876 Cleveland Ohio. Next to Singer, perhaps the largest and best known of the US sewing machine companies. White owned their own forests and operated their own cabinet factories, rather than contracting them out. They were noted for having the highest quality cabinets. Read more at Treadleon.net So for now my lovely cabinet makes a great display for these Fabrics Neutral Territory by Audrey Wright (RJR Fabrics) --- so much prettier in real life then pictures show, I just love the black tans & whites and there's an accent of a very pretty blue that just brings it all together.
Always Quilting,
Teresa
